Class Descriptions

Confused about Yoga??

Yoga can seem daunting. It can be hard to find the right class and for some people, even harder to show up. We try to make all our classes as multi-level and welcoming as we can. Some classes however, are more physically demanding than others and some are more challenging for the mind (being still and quiet can feel really hard for some people). Check our class descriptions and FAQs below, we hope they help.

What is Hatha?

A steady form of yoga with static poses - often fewer poses held for longer. Sessions include breathwork and meditation and are great for slowing down.

Which classes are good for beginner's?

Beginner's Yoga 6pm Thursday teaches you foundational poses and introduces breathwork and relaxation. Other classes we think a beginner might enjoy are: Gentle Yoga; The Journey; Slow Flow & Restore; and Somatics & Slow Vinyassa.

What is Vinyassa?

A class that flows from pose to pose using the breath, often exploring quite a wide range of postures. This style of yoga can offer a sense of a 'flow state'. The pace can feel demanding for some but the end sense of stillness can be beautiful.

Somatics & Vinyassa with Fran Monday and Thursday at 7.10pm, Yoga with Darryl Tuesday 7.15pm, Pulse with Sefton Wednesday 6pm and Trunk with Sefton Friday 6pm.

What is Somatics?

Gentle, mindful movements and breathwork. Somatic Yoga helps release tension and tightness held within the body. Our main intention is to strengthen the brain-to-muscle connection with gentle movement.
